DESCRIPTION:Summer Session – at la Gendronniere Zen Temple – directed by Guy Mokuho – from 6th – 14th July\, 2026\nArrival: Sunday 5 July at the end of the day\nDuring this session\, in addition to the practice of zazen\, there will be teachings on the foundations of Buddhism (what samsara is and dependent co-arising; how the functioning of the “illusory self” perpetuates the world of suffering; how to bring it to an end for the benefit of all beings\, etc.). Several mondos (question-and-answer sessions) will be offered. \nProgram for children aged 6 to 14 \nWe will welcome children accompanied by at least one of their parents. A program of activities will be prepared by the people supervising the children’s group\, who will call on parents for help if needed. DESCRIPTION:Summer Session 2026 Tenborin – Domaine du Fan –  15 – 24 August\nZen Retreat in August\nAt Domaine du Fan in Haute-Vienne  – Led by Guy Mokuhō Mercier and the disciples of the Tenbōrin Sangha\nThere are places that seem beyond time and space. Places where nature itself teaches; where century-old cedars stand like monks and nuns — upright\, silent\, deeply rooted long before us.\nDomaine du Fan is one of those places. We return there for the third time\, as one returns to what truly matters.\nFor nine days\, together\, we will set down the burden of ordinary life. No more rushing\, no more noise\, no more excess. In its place: the simplicity of communal life\, the joy of carrying out each gesture with care\, the depth of a shared presence. \nMaster Dōgen wrote: \n\nWhat joy to be born a human being and prepare meals for the Three Treasures. \n\nThis is the spirit we will cultivate together — the spirit of the Bodhisattva — in the dojo as in the kitchen\, in zazen as in samu\, in every gesture returned to its pure simplicity.\nGuy Mokuhō and his disciples will lead the teachings in the living continuity of our tradition and in the simple kindness of our Sangha.\nThese nine days together — for both newcomers and long-time practitioners — will be like a pause outside ordinary life\, a time to nourish and restore ourselves\, so that when we return to the world our practice may be more conscious\, more alive\, and more deeply rooted in everyday life. \nDownload the brochure here (French)\nRegister for the retreat here!
