TheTenbōrin Zen Association brings together Soto Zen Buddhist practitioners who wish to practice the Buddha Way together and who wish, through their action, to bring a spirit of peace to the world and offer concrete help to those who suffer.
Guy Mokuho Mercier, Zen Monk, close disciple of Taisen Deshimaru Roshi, is the founder and this association.
Tenbōrin means “To Turn the wheel of the dharma”. In Buddhism, it means to teach and transmit the Dharma, the universal (or cosmic) law, as well as being the doctrine of the Buddha. This is done from a personal realization based on the teachings of the Buddha, the practice of zazen, meditation, and the giving of oneself to the service of others.
The Tenbōrin Association, founded in 2004, aims to promote and teach the practice of meditation and the teachings of the Buddha and Zen ancestors, respecting the tradition of the Zen Soto school, such as transmitted for 2500 years by an unbroken line of Ancestors and introduced to Europe by Master Deshimaru .
